The work, which concerns equipment located at Point 2 of the LHC between Sergy and Saint-Genis-Pouilly, will be carried out during the daytime on Tuesday, 2 and Wednesday, 3 November 2021. Several storage silos will be emptied, which will generate high noise levels for a maximum duration of two hours per day.

CERN’s Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Protection unit will take acoustic measurements while the work is under way, with a view to minimising the impact on people in the local area.
