Reopening of the Route de Meyrin after pipe burst incident
Today at around 11 a.m. a pipe supplying CERN with water, burst under the road close to the French-Swiss border in Meyrin.
The Route de Meyrin between the Route de l’Europe in France and the Route du Mandement in Switzerland was closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The incident required the immediate intervention of the CERN Fire and Rescue Services, and the water was cut off by Services Industriels de Genève (SIG) who repaired the damage allowing the reopening of the road.
