Future Circular Collider
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) could be Europe’s next-generation particle collider: a unique tool to explore the deepest mysteries of the Universe and to drive technology, innovation and skills for decades to come.
The FCC would be housed in a 91-kilometre tunnel at an average depth of 200 metres underneath CERN and the surrounding regions of France and Switzerland, including a section passing beneath Lake Geneva. It would collide electrons with their antiparticles, delivering collision results with unprecedented detail.

HiLumi LHC
The High-Luminosity LHC will increase the number of particle collisions (i.e. the luminosity) tenfold, which will considerably increase the volume of physics data available for research.
This leap forward will enable the behaviour of the Higgs boson and other elementary particles to be studied with unprecedented precision, increasing the potential for new discoveries after 2030.
