Every year on the last Saturday of March, Earth Hour invites people from all around the world to take action on and raise awareness of the issues our Planet is facing.
Started in 2007 by WWF and partners as a symbolic lights-out event to raise awareness of climate change, Earth Hour is now one of the world's largest grassroots movements for the environment with supporters in over 190 countries and territories.
CERN is committed to the protection of the environment and supported the initiative by turning off the lights of the Globe of Science and Innovation for 60 minutes at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday 26 March.
