On 2 and 3 December, 17 secondary school teachers from the Académie de Grenoble (FR) participated in a training course on matter, conducted in collaboration between CERN and Foundation La main à la Pâte (LAMAP) through the Maison pour la science Alpes Dauphiné.
Curious and invested, the participants took part in various workshops offered by CERN: a cloud chamber, a Masterclass and showed a lot of enthusiasm during the visit of the Synchrocyclotron and the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) guided by CERN scientists. The teachers will bring this newly acquired knowledge back to their classroomss, and who knows, maybe they will spark vocations!
Foundation La main à la Pâte is the continuity of the La main à la Pâte operation launched in 1995 by Georges Charpak, Nobel Prize in Physics 1992. Its mission is to help improve the quality of the teaching of science and technology in primary school and college.
