CERN: not only physicists
Did you know CERN hires mostly engineers, technicians and administrative staff? The laboratory hosts more than 10'000 physicists from all over the world, sent by their national institutions, but it needs about 2'500 staff to offer proper technical and administrative infrastructure to welcome these scientists.

CERN offers various visits offers all year long from Monday to Saturday (excluding bank holidays).
You can either visit our permanent exhibitions (free access) or book a guided tours (as individuals, in groups of minimum 12 persons or for school groups).

CERN has various training offers from apprenticeship to doctorate levels.

Since 2017, CERN offers the HSSIP (High School Students Internship Programme) in English for the high school student.
"Job Shadowing" internships (from 1 day to max 2 weeks) are also possible at CERN. Get in touch with a person working at CERN (a parent, a friend, the father of a neighbour) who can then follow the official procedure available in CERN's Admin e-Guide.
