Imagining the future of physics
The exhibition Why? It matters. Matière à questions invites the public to explore the big questions, challenges and decisions that will shape the future of particle physics.

What remains to be discovered about the Universe? What tools will allow us to explore further? How are major research infrastructure projects decided upon?
CERN is inviting the community and the general public to discover the current thinking on the future of particle physics through the exhibition Why? It matters. Matière à questions at the Globe of Science and Innovation.
With the help of objects, interactive exhibits, images and multimedia installations, visitors will discover the great challenges that are driving current research: from the mysteries of the Universe to technological challenges, from possible future accelerators to their impact on society and the local area.
The exhibition also sheds light on the ongoing process whereby scientists, engineers, decision-makers, Member States and international partners are working together to shape the next decades of research.
