Poppy ergo jr. robot

The CERN Micro Club and the CERN IdeaSquare (in partnership with Google Education and EU Code Week) is organising an exceptional educational event around three scientific kits based upon the Raspberry Pi mini-computer:

  • The Poppy Ergo Jr Robotic Arm, invented by the Flowers project team at Inria Bordeaux Sud-Ouest Research Center, ENSTA Paris Tech (French Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique).
  • The Muon Hunter Cosmic Ray Detector kit, designed as a partnership between Mihaly Vadai and members of the CERN Micro Club.
  • The Programmable Wifi car GianoPi, invented in partnership with the campus La Chataigneraie, for the École internationale de Genève.

On Friday 7 October (from 18 h to 20 h):
A free conference open to all (limited to an audience of 100 participants), during which you will be able to meet the kit inventors and learn more about their work.

On Saturday 8 October (from 9 h to 17 h) :
A workshop day during which you will assemble and program as part of a team one of the three kits.

Conditions :

  • Priority to science and technology teachers and students (between 12 and 18 years old).
  • Open only to groups of 2 to 4 persons (one responsible adult per team minimum, or a teacher per school group minimum).
  • Compulsory purchase of a scientific kit (between 180 € and 290 € or between 195 CHF and 320 CHF) per team.
