At the Globe of Science and Innovation, in the morning, the Minis (4-6 years old) discovered the basics of programming with the unplugged Cubetto robot and Robot turtle board game. In the afternoon, the Kids (7-10 years old) learned about video games programming with CodeCombat and Kids-lab.io.
The Teens (11-15 years old) spent the day in IdeaSquare where they learned about electronics with Internet of Things, robotics with Poppy Ergo Jr. and Thymio, and the HTML language.
DevoXX4Kids is a 2012 initiative aimed to offer, develop and gather tools and workshops to introduce kids and teenagers to programming and computing logics in a fun way. The workshops have since been offered to over 2,500 children worldwide. This is the second time CERN hosts this event since 2017.
