From 25 to 27 September 2020, CERN and CineGlobe are teaming up to offer a long weekend celebrating science at the Globe of Science and Innovation. Sign up now to participate as a volunteer!
Programme
Open air cinema, hands-on, workshops, drop-in activities, exhibitions… The programme is diverse and huge!
- Friday 25 September 2020, 5 to 11 p.m. – Researchers’ Night at CERN
- Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2020, 10 to 11 p.m. – CineGlobe

Volunteer tasks
To run this major event, we need help with logistics, welcoming and information for visitors, and the hosting of some activities.

Conditions of registration
- All CERN personnel, no matter the contract (MPEs, MPAs, Official CERN guides, ENTC, TEMC), aged 18 and over.
- Minimum B2 level in French is a must for this event aimed at the local community
- Mandatory presence (by videoconference) at one of the briefing sessions
Dress code and meal
- You will receive a black "standard model" t-shirt if you participate on Friday (unless you already have one) and / or a CineGlobe t-shirt if you participate on one of the other days. Colored vests will be available to perform certain tasks (flow control, information, etc.)
- You will receive 17 CHF meal vouchers, which can be used at the Food trucks of the event, according to the following principle:
- Friday: 1 meal ticket, regardless of the number of shifts, valid only on Friday (evening meal)
- Saturday: 1 meal ticket for 1 shift, 2 meal tickets for 2 shifts and more, valid Saturday and Sunday (noon and evening)
- Sunday: 1 meal ticket for 1 shift, 2 meal tickets for 2 shifts and more, valid Saturday and Sunday (noon and evening)
- No change will be returned by the Food trucks, regardless of the value of the product purchased.
Briefing sessions
- Friday 18 September 2020, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Tuesday 22 September 2020, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Mandatory attendance by videoconference to one of the briefing sessions. Depending on the task that will be assigned to you, you may be invited to do an extra small training (in particular for the activities hosting).
Sanitary measures
Please note that due to the COVID-19 epidemic, wearing a mask is mandatory throughout the event. Other health measures will be communicated to the volunteers during the briefing sessions.
