Every 4-5 years, during a "long shutdown", CERN opens its doors to the public for two special days at the heart of one of the world’s largest particle-physics laboratories.

To celebrate Girls in ICT Day, CERN organises each year at the Globe a day of robotics and computing workshops for girls aged 6 to 14, tutored by CERN mentors.

Three days of workshops for kids and pupils aged 10 to 18, around scientific and technological kits.

"Job Shadowing" internships are possible at CERN for secondary students , if this forms an obligatory part of their school programme.
