3 to 7 July saw the CineGlobe International Film Festival return to CERN for its 9th edition, on the theme of Transformation/Transcendence. Around 1000 people turned out to watch long & short films inspired by science, discover virtual reality experiences, and take part in hands-on activities all about imagery.
A record proportion of short films were represented in person by film-makers and actors from about 20 countries, and the festival atmosphere was ever-present, despite the heat.
The CineGlobe team would like to thank CERN, our sponsors, volunteers, IdeaSquare, the local communications team and especially the Globe technical crew for their support, without whose efforts this event could not take place in such good conditions!
The next edition of CineGlobe will be the 10th, so we’ve already started preparing something very special. Meanwhile, come and find us on 1 August at Parc de la Grange in Geneva during the Swiss National Day celebrations, where we will be screening a selection of short films from our 2019 competition in our Cinema Caravan.
